EAST Midlands Trains could solve its carriage shortage problems by employing Station Shovers. Station Shovers, which are used extensively in Japan, stand in groups of four on platforms. When a two carriage train arrives they help shove as many people as possible onto the overcrowded train-almost doubling the number of people that can be stuffed on board. |
