A letter for your boss and compensation

IF you are late for work, because you cannot get on an East Midlands train due to too few carriages, you are within your rights to ask them for a letter confirming the problem. This can be shown to your employer/union who may be able to advise on ‘arriving late at work policies’. Take a picture with your mobile of the chaos as evidence (send us a copy for the campaign website info@trainsardine.info).

You can ask for compensation if:

You have a reserved seat and have to stand

Train is too full to board –take photo.

A disability means you can’t board crowded trains (this maybe illegal also)

Delayed more than 30 minutes
