No 10 petition goes live |

Downing Street has agreed to host a petition on our behalf. All we need is 200 signatures and those who have signed will get a formal reply. So read the statement below and then click to sign. Downing Street has agreed to host an online petition that could see East Midlands Trains being investigated by the Government. Rail passenger campaign group, TrainSardine.org , asked Number 10 to host the petition after becoming frustrated at East Midlands Trains for regularly turning passengers into sardines by sending only half the carriages needed at rush hour on the troubled Liverpool to Norwich line. A spokesperson for TrainSardine.org said; “All we need is 200 signatures and those who have signed will get a formal reply. The ‘half size’ trains result in severe overcrowding across the country with many passengers not able to get on trains, making them late for work, and people with guide dogs left stranded because the RSPCA advise animals should not travel in such conditions. We are frustrated with the inability of anyone to sort the problem, poor communication, and a lack of respect.” The Petition says: “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to investigate East Midlands Trains, the Liverpool to Norwich line rail franchise operator, for failing services.”
